Parade's Dunleavy among IAR honorees

The Irish American Republicans have announced their 2012 honorees and they are: John Dunleavy, Ray Martinez, Craig Eaton, and Lifetime Award honoree, Frank Duggan

The IAR, a coalition of Irish Americans in the Republican Party originally founded in 1868, chose their honorees for "Outstanding Service to the Irish American community, the Republican Party, and the conservative cause."

The 2012 honorees are New York Saint Patrick's Parade chairman, John Dunleavy, New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission chairman, Ray Martinez, and Kings County Republican Party chairman, Craig Eaton.

The IAR, according to a release, will also be presenting a "first ever" lifetime achievement award to the Frank Duggan, former chair of the U.S. National Mediation Board and founding chairman of the Irish American Republicans. Duggan is being honored for the re-founding of the IAR in the early 1990s.

The 2012 IAR awards Reception will be held on Wednesday, June 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Women's National Republican Club, 5 West 51st Street in Manhattan.

"Our 2012 honorees are great Americans," said Irish American Republican co-chair, Jeff Cleary.

"They have all acted in the cause of American freedom, are great friends of Ireland, and have served this country with distinction. I am proud to join the Board of the Irish American Republicans in announcing our 2012 honorees," Cleary added.
