Brooklyn Barry Club is Philly bound

Members and guests of the Commodore Barry Club in Brooklyn are heading for Philadelphia, Barry's home city, on Sunday, May 27.

The group will depart from Duncan Donuts, 9243 4th Ave. in Brooklyn at 8 a.m. for an "optional" Mass at 11 in historic Old St. Mary's Church, 252 So. 4th St., Philadelphia.

A wreath laying ceremony at Commodore Barry's grave in the nearby cemetery will follow. The group will then visit the city's Famine memorial.

Lunch will be at the Commodore Barry Irish Center, 6815 Emlen Street and Carpenter Lane, with entertainment to follow. the visitors will return to New York in the early evening.
