According to a release, with the generous assistance of the Irish community in New York, Dr. Boland has been able to assist in the education of Irish Doctors by affording them the opportunity to study at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and return to Ireland with newly acquired expertise.

Added the release announcing the banquet: "Dr. Boland is also involved in extensive research activities, including ongoing clinical research in sacral tumors and in the assessment of quality of life in patients with metastatic bone cancer. He has also authored and co-authored numerous chapters and scientific papers on surgery for tumors of extremities and the spine. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons; a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

"The name 'Team Trinity' was developed by organizers when Eileen Collum Mannion was asked by the Westchester Chapter for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to be one of their Champions of Hope. Though the challenge was daunting, it was still one that could be accomplished by assembling a group of Irish Americans with a great desire to help. Team Trinity also came together to reverse any negative portrayals of the Irish immigrant and Irish Americans."

In conjunction with the banquet, a souvenir journal is being published and an auction will be held on the evening to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. For tickets and information contact Ursula McIntyre at (914)318-5501 or Umcintyre@yonkersraceway.com.
