Star power at Oscar Wilde awards

The US-Ireland Alliance recently hosted its 7th annual Oscar Wilde Awards at Bad Robot in Santa Monica. Three Academy Award nominees, John Logan, Melissa McCarthy and Michelle Williams, were honored at the ceremony.

George Mitchell, former U.S. senator and President Clinton's special envoy to Northern Ireland, and for whom the US-Ireland Alliance named its Mitchell Scholarship program, spoke at the event.

Also there on the night was Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh, an award presenter. Among the 300 guests in attendance were Stephen Spielberg and his wife, the actress Cate Capshaw, Motion Picture Association chairman, Chris Dodd, Colin Farrell, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Jim Sheridan.
