Kennedy for House bid?

With a vacant House of Representatives seat on the way courtesy of a retiring Rep. Barney Frank, political eyes in Massachusetts are again turning to a Kennedy, specifically Joseph P. Kennedy III, son of former House member Joseph P. Kennedy II, better known as simply Joe Kennedy.

Kennedy, 31, an assistant district attorney in Middlesex County, has been the subject of speculation in the past, but while he has firm;y held his hand he has now indicated that his hat might be thrown into the ring.

Kennedy told reporters last week that he is leaving the door open for a congressional run next year.

"I just haven't had the time to give it any thought, the type of careful consideration that it requires. I've always thought politics is an honorable profession. "It demands that you give it careful thought before you jump into it. When I get the time to do that, I'll think about it, but we're not there yet," the Boston Herald reported Kennedy as saying.

Kennedy specifically ruled out a House run last year but his more nuanced statement last week has generated a lot of talk around the Bay State, and a possible House bid has been linked to more than one congressional district.
