The Irish have long been a part of the story New Orleans. But as of this week they are networking that story.

Irish Network New Orleans (IN-NOLA) is a new Louisiana non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Ireland and its culture and

traditions in the New Orleans Area and to promoting New Orleans to the Irish-American community and to Ireland itself.

As such, IN-NOLA is the newest chapter to join IN-USA, the national umbrella organization for "IN" chapters across the United States.

While we are the newest IN chapter, IN-NOLA is off to a great start. Recently we launched our website and opened membership registration. We already have over 240 individual members and 35 business members.

"Our members are a diverse group of Irish people, Irish Americans, and friends of Ireland. We are continuing to rapidly expand in

the New Orleans area," said Irish Network New Orleans president, Adrian D'Arcy.

IN-NOLA's official launch party is being held this week, on Thursday November 10, at the historic Gallier Hall in New Orleans.

We are expecting a large turnout for this great night of Irish festivities. Among the guests will be prominent New Orleans Irish, Irish Americans, and local dignitaries. We expect many of New Orleans City Council members to be in attendance and the New Orleans mayor. "Of course, the Louisiana Honorary Consul for Ireland, the Honorable Judge James McKay III, will be in attendance and is fully supporting IN-NOLA," said

D'Arcy.

IN-USA is, meanwhile, sending representatives to the launch party and has scheduled an IN-USA board meeting in New Orleans on November 11.

The IN-USA co-presidents and IN-USA representatives from Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Seattle, Philadelphia, San Diego, and many more cities are traveling for the launch party and the IN-USA board meeting. In addition, some representatives from other cities who are contemplating setting up an IN chapter are flying in for the event.

Said D'Arcy: "As the launch party is national in nature, and as IN-USA is having its board meeting in New Orleans on November 11, the Irish Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Michael Collins, is also flying in to attend the event.

In addition, as Louisiana is now in Atlanta's district, the new Irish Consul General for Atlanta, Mr. Paul Gleeson, will be in attendance."
