The three other men were bouncers at a nightclub where the alleged incident took place. The three received treatment at Letterkenny General Hospital and have since been released. The garda sergeant, who was stabbed in the hand, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.

He was released on bail to appear at Letterkenny District Court on September 15. Judge William Hamill was told that there may be additional charges in the case.
