Rovers win in Europe

SHAMROCK ROVERS put themselves in with a reasonable chance of reaching the third qualifying of the Champions League by defeating Estonian side Flora Tallinn at Tallaght Stadium.

The only goal came from Chris Turner in the 34th minute. Afterwards they were fortunate to see the visitors miss a penalty, but overall Rovers deserved their win.

Both St Patrick Athletic and Bohemians went down to away defeats in the second round qualifying of the Europa Cup. St Pat's will be more pleased as David McMillan snatched a precious second-half away goal in their 2-1 defeat to Shakh' Kargandy in Kazakhstan.
