Mayor who greeted queen dies

The Sinn Féin mayor of Cashel, who caused a stir within and outside his party when he shook hands with the queen during her recent visit to the Country Tipperary town, has died.

And Sinn Féin president, Gerry Adams, has extended his sympathy to the family of Councilor Michael Browne, who died after losing his battle to a serious illness. Adams said Browne's death was a loss for his family, for the people of Cashel, and for Sinn Féin.
