Council's Quinn presents Kelly with Manton award

The New York City Council recently held its annual Irish heritage and culture event at the offices of Mutual of America on Park Avenue in Manhattan. The centerpiece of the gathering was the presentation to New York City Police Commissioner, Ray Kelly, of the Thomas J. Manton Irish Man of the Year Award. The award, named after the late Congressman Tom Manton, was presented to Kelly by City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. The event was attended by members of the Manton family as well as City council members Daniel Dromm and Elizabeth Crowley. Also present as an honored guest was Mae O'Driscoll, grand marshal of this year's Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade. William Alatriste was on hand to take photos of the gathering.
