DUBLIN – Ryanair has slashed the price of a one-way fare to _19.99 from Dublin to 11 British destinations except for London-Gatwick route.

This is the lowest ever air-fare between British and Ireland and makes it cheaper than a train from Dublin to Cork (_32) or a taxi ride from Dublin to Bray (_27).

The new low-fare tickets will be on sale from Thursday, but the special promotion is not open to people flying from Britain unless they have already flown from Ireland.

“This is a promotion for our Irish market,” a spokesman said, “We don’t do uniform promotions for all the markets at the same time, but British customers will be getting offers which are not available in

Ireland. They could get an offer like this later.

“The special promotion will mean that someone flying from Ireland will be able to get a return fare of _38.98. he cheapest fare for a British customer is _49 return, which is still the cheapest.”

The special promotion will not be available on every seat but will involve fares on about 150 flights a week.”
