DUBLIN — Roscommon gave their National Football League campaign a boost when they held Galway to a 3-11 apiece draw in Div. 1A at Hyde Park last Saturday. Gary Cox fired over a brilliant equalizing point from out near the sideline in the dying seconds to earn his side a share of the spoils.

This six-goal thriller looked to be swinging Galway’s way when substitute Padraic Joyce scored a goal to put the All-Ireland champions four points clear. However, Jonathan Dunning struck for his second goal of the game, before Cox kicked his crucial point in Roscommon’s last attack.

Meanwhile, Cork kept up their unbeaten record in Div. 1B of the National Hurling League with a comfortable 1-24 to 1-12 win over Derry at Swatragh. Joe Deane with 1-5 and Neil Ronan who added five points earned Cork a third success from three outings.

Down moved to the top of Div. 2A after defeating Kildare by 2-13 to 1-15 at Naas, and Carlow did likewise in Div. 2B with a 3-11 to 2-3 win over London at Ruislip.
