Take Your Pick’ in Sean Og’s

The Monaghan women’s Gaelic Football Club is hosting a weekly "Take Your Pick" in Sean Og’s Tavern starting on this Friday, June 9. Tickets may be bought on the night for $5. The jackpot will start at $300 and will increase each week if not won.

Fight night in Jersey

The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh will hold its annual amateur fight night on June 16 at 8 p.m. (rain date, June 17) on the grounds of the club in at 15 Oak St., Old Bridge, N.J., just off Rte. 18. Last year, more than 900 boxing fans attended the event that consisted of 10 bouts. The same program is anticipated this year. Hot dogs, beverages and snacks wil be available for purchase. LGAA fund-raiser

The New York Ladies Gaelic Football County Training Fund will host a simulated golf tournament on Saturday, June 24, in Mulligans Golf Lounge, 600 Tuckahoe Rd., Yonkers. Tee time is 8 p.m. The fund-raiser will feature three competitions using the three simulated golf courses with categories for the novice and the professional golfer.

Golfers will compete for "The longest drive," "Closest to the pin" and, for the women golfers "Shoot on the moon." Using a large screen the golfer is shown a scene from the selected tee. European soccer tour

Seattle Gaels Football Club

A 13-aside tournament in Seattle will take place July 15-16 against teams from San Diego and Los Angeles. On July 23 at 1 p.m., an exhibition game will take place in Seattle at the Irish Heritage Club picnic at Lake Sammamish State Park, near Issaquah.

Young Ireland’s camogie

Mayo GFC tour

The Mayo Gaelic Football Team of Greater New York are going on tour to Ireland in July. The flight departs July 20 and return date is optional. There are some seats available on the flight. NICE golf outing in Mt. Kisco

Northern Ireland Children’s Enterprise will hold its 12th annual golf outing on June 8 at Mount Kisco Country Club. Special guest will be CBS sports commentator David Feherty, who will give a golf clinic before the tournament and will be the after-dinner speaker. Reservations for just dinner and cocktail party are $150; foursomes are $1,500. All proceeds beneift NICE’s program of bringing children from Belfast to New York for five weeks in the summer, as well as continuing work at NICE facilities in Belfast and Ballycastle. Hospice golf tournament

The 7th annual charity golf tournament to benefit the Sligo-based Northwest cancer hospice unit will take place Aug. 19 on a new 18-hole golf course at Pleasantville Thunderhart, in Freehold, N.Y.
