NACB Roundup Philly to host national convention

February 16, 2011

By Staff Reporter

The date of this year’s North American County Board Convention has been changed to Nov. 6-7 in Philadelphia. All clubs that competed in an NACB Championship in 1998 are eligible to attend and are entitled to two votes.

Clubs are reminded that NACB by-laws prohibit motions or nominations (other than for honorary president) being accepted from the floor. Outgoing officers are automatically renominated, but all other motions and nominations must be submitted by mail or by fax ([425] 290-6516) to the NACB secretary, Seán Ó Catháin Rúnaí, by Oct. 17 for circulation to the affiliated clubs and for review by the Motions Committee. All motions and nominations must be signed by the club secretary.

Also, the NACB Reinstatement Committee will meet on Friday evening, Nov. 6, to consider appeals for reinstatement. Appeals from individuals and clubs must be received in writing at least two weeks before the convention. All divisions should have representatives available at the hotel by 8 p.m. on Friday who are prepared to serve on an appeals committee if required.
