“It’s a 10 round fight and if we gotta go 10 rounds, we’ll do so,” said Brooklyn native Harry Keitt last Saturday.
The once beaten Medina [22-1-2, 18 KOs] is a pressure fighter who comes straight ahead blasting away with both hands and Keitt said Duddy [28-1, 18 KOs], would not take a backward step either.
“[Duddy’s] not going to run from him, just beat him down with body shots. That’s how we gotta beat him,” Keitt explained. “John will be looking to block and counter, block and counter. He’ll hit him with body shots [and] uppercuts because Medina will be there to be hit.”
Extremely confident in his boxer, the trainer guaranteed a Duddy victory. “John comes to work in the gym and is in tremendous shape,” Keitt added.
The fighter himself, who stopped another Mexican, Juan Astorga, a minute and 55 seconds into their contest at Madison Square Garden in January, said his scrap with Medina had the makings of a great fight.
“I’ve watched a few of his bouts and he’s very tough and durable,” the Derry Destroyer noted.
