Dougherty to lead Greenwich parade

The parade, the 35th annual, is organized by the Greenwich Hibernian Association and will take place on Sunday, March 22, in the Connecticut town.
Dougherty is an active member of a number of Irish-American organizations. He is currently president of The Wild Geese, the cultural organization based in Fairfield County, and is vice-president of the Greenwich Hibernian Association.
In addition, he is a member of the Irish American Cultural Institute, the Irish Genealogical Society, International, the Donegal Historical Society and the O’Dochartaigh Clann Association.
Dougherty is, additionally, a founding director of the Irish American Museum of Washington, D.C., Inc., a newly formed organization with a goal of building an Irish-American Museum in the nation’s capital.
The parade steps off at 2 p.m. and will proceed up Route 1 and then down Greenwich Avenue.
