It's a great time to learn Irish!

As always, there is an action-packed calendar of Irish language and Irish-themed events taking place all over the city. There is an Irish Language Day on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Glucksman Ireland House at New York University. All are welcome and this is a free event. For information, visit www.irelandhouse.fas.nyu.edu. I will be there and am looking forward to it. As always, come up and say hi if you attend, as I love to meet my readers and all Irish language enthusiasts.

The following day, Sunday, Feb. 7, the CUNY Institute for Irish-American Studies are hosting a Conversational Circle in the Rambling House Bar and Restaurant in the Bronx at 5:30 p.m. CUNYIIAS hold a conversational Circle every month. For information, visit www.irishamericanstudies.com.

A weekly Tea & Chat Conversation Circle takes place every Wednesday at The Irish Arts Center in Manhattan. The IAC also runs Irish Language classes for adults and children. The new term has just begun but you can still join. The children's classes, "Gaelic Kids," take place on Saturday mornings and are a great success so why not give your child the gift of the Irish language? For information, visit www.irishartscenter.org

There is an Irish Language Immersion Weekend run by the fantastic group Dalta
