Law & Order Honoree

Thomas Phelan is a Lieutenant with the Yonkers Police Department. He was hired as a police officer in 1995, promoted to Sergeant in 2000 and promoted to Lieutenant in 2008. Currently, Phelan is serving his second term as President of the Captain, Lieutenants & Sergeants Association of the Yonkers Police Department. As President, Phelan protects the rights of the members of the CLSA and supports many charitable organizations. He is also a member of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Westchester.

Phelan's parents hail from Co. Waterford in Ireland. His beautiful wife, Alyce McMahon Phelan, also has strong Irish roots - her mother was from Co. Galway and her father was from Co. Cavan. Phelan played Irish football for the Rangers Football Club as a child into his teens, and spent many Sundays playing at Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

Phelan is the proud father of four wonderful children. His daughters, Emma and Molly Rose, study Irish dance and music, and play Irish football for St. Brigid's. His sons, Jack and Kieran Thomas, are future Ranger football players and will make PopPop, John Phelan (Coach) proud some day!

In Loving Memory of Frank, Mary & Sheila.
